My Favorite Book of the Week

I am currently in the middle of Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd.  This is a collection of short stories compiled by authors Holly Black and Cecil Castellucci.  I read the first story sitting on the floor of the children's department of the Harvard bookstore and was hooked.  Geektastic features stories by authors like Cassandra Clare, John Green, MT Anderson, Scott Westerfeld and more.  All of the authors are self-proclaimed geeks and the stories all address some aspect of what it's like to love science fiction, fantasy, gaming, etc.  It's definitely worthwhile to check out.

Third Hunger Games Book Announced!

The third book in the Hunger Games trilogy has been annouced.  It's going to be called Mockingjay and is due out August 24, 2010.  There's a lot of excitement surrounding the release of this book, especially since the second book, Catching Fire, ended in such a huge cliffhanger.  If you haven't read the first two yet, you might want to wait until the summer so you have a shorter time to wait for the conclusion of the series.  Definitely check out the series though, it's one not to miss!

Personally, I don't love the cover.  It seems a little weak compared to the intensity of the Hunger Games and Catching Fire covers.  Thoughts?
